Supercharge the healing process for longevity

Which life are you designing

Longevity: Lifestyle strategies for living a healthy, long life”

According to the article in Harvard Health Publishing, experts estimate that about 25% of the variation in human life span is determined by genetics. But the rest can be attributed in large part to how we take care of our bodies. We know there is more to longevity than duration. Most us don’t want to just live longer — we want to live longer while enjoying a good quality of life. There are simple things you can do to be your healthiest, most active, most productive self while living longer. The keys to perhaps, living to age 100 or more, are a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and good lifestyle choices.

Back in my twentiesStudies support the assertion that young adults engage in fewer positive health practices. Harris et al. (2006) find that young adults ages 18-25 are more likely to experiment with smoking and drinking, and are less likely to exercise or maintain a healthy diet. Moreover, these declines were consistent across race-ethnicity and gender, supporting the assertion that it is the life course stage itself.

They might even start on a downward health spiral with experiencing such things as adding a few pounds each year, frequent heartburn to the point of having their gall bladder removed, taking blood pressure and cholesterol medication plus medication to sleep.

We often have to live a few decades even to middle age before we develop the awareness of the impact of our lifestyle choices on the quality of our health. In our energetic, quick to bounce back youth, it’s easy to feel invincible. The rush of life, the pursuit of pleasure, and the demands of a bustling lifestyle often lead us to overlook the importance of health. We embrace a mentality of immortality, believing that nothing can harm us.

Through objective clinical tests, I have found that the harm to our health resulting from those early decades of  unhealthy practices reduces our ability to bounce back and regain our health. Most commonly, patients are found to be chronically stressed, structurally distorted, biochemically deficient of nutrients, and overburdened with toxins resulting in Interference in the ability to self-heal, self-regulate how their body systems function.

Attempts to fix their health by shopping at natural Food stores, juice bars, going to gyms, yoga and Pilates studios and visiting integrated medical care are awesome lifestyle changes. Unfortunately they are not enough to reverse the existing damage. So all the while their health continues to slip away.
